THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB

The Friendship Club is a community service of New Life Church. It provides for people who mostly live alone and wish to meet new friends in a welcoming and non-intimidating atmosphere. We encourage maintenance of a healthy and safe lifestyle for all. After a good chat over coffee there is a varied programme of table games, quizzes, films, talks, craft and outings with a short service when appropriate.

Refreshments including fresh fruit is provided each week. We also have music and movement exercise sessions.

Birthdays are celebrated with cake. The Friendship Club meets every Thursday between 10.00 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. in the Coffee Shop (Grapevine Cafe) at the end of our main church building in Greenland Road. It only costs £1.50 each week and new members are always welcome.

The Friendship Club is run by Denis and Louise Mitchell . They would be very pleased to tell you more and offer you a trial visit. The Church minibus is fitted with a tail lift facility which ensures access and security for wheelchairs. This is particularly useful for collecting and delivering members to to and from their homes, but also transporting them to outside events we attend. We are sorry that we cannot provide regular transport for new members.
