SENIOR PASTOR

Hi there! My name is Philip Amos and I have the joy of leading the church here in Worthing. They are a great church and should you visit, you will receive a warm welcome.

I guess that you have come to this page to find out a bit about me? So what can I tell you?

I moved to Worthing in August 2011 to take up leadership responsibilities in the church, and am finding Worthing a great place to live. I have always wanted to live by the sea, and the reality has been as good as the dream. Well, apart from the fact I wanted to live by a sandy beach!

I have a wide experience of church life. I came to know God personally at the age of 17 in a Methodist church; I trained at an Assemblies of God Bible college and worked as a youth pastor in one of their churches for five years. Then God led me to work in a Baptist church for the next 18 years during which time I trained for the Baptist ministry.

In July 2009, God started to talk to me about moving on from my previous church and after a lot of prayer and several visits to Worthing, I was invited by the church to come and join the leadership team, from September 2011.

I have a beautiful wife called Rachel, and four strapping lads called Sam, Ben, Daniel and Josh. So as you can imagine, our house is never quiet and is always full of fun and laughter. If you are an animal lover you may be interested to know that we have a dog (called Willow) and one goldfish (called Hubert!!!!!)

When not at church, I love to take my camera out and about to see what catches my eye and on warmer days, I love to go out in my convertible. I fulfilled another dream in 2008 when I restored a classic car, and now Bridget the Midge sits on my driveway.
