STAFF

Graham Jefferson is Senior Pastor at New Life. He's been a staff member since 1983. Graham is married to Rosemary who is a singer/songwriter and co-ordinates our First Light Service. Before being called into the ministry, he was a medical laboratory scientist specialising in chemical pathology. Graham trained for the ministry at the London Bible College in Northwood, Middlesex, (now known as the London School of Theology) gaining a first class honours degree in Theology. After six years in a mission in Deptford, South East London, Graham did editorial work for the Christian Publicity Organisation (CPO) in Worthing for two and a half years before joining the team at New Life.

David John is Associate Pastor at New Life. He joined us in February 2007. He was previously Senior Minister at Gillingham Baptist Church in Kent. David is married to Alison who until August 2007, worked for Abbeyfield rest homes, giving spiritual and pastoral care. She is also training at Spurgeons College to be an evangelist amongst the elderly. David has an MA degree in English Language and Literature from Lincoln College, Oxford, and a postgraduate certificate of education. For some years, he taught English at William Parker School before becoming co-pastor of Kings Church in the town. Subsequently, David became co-pastor at Battle Baptist Church whilst gaining the Cambridge Diploma of Theology with distinction from Spurgeons College. David was Senior Pastor at Gillingham Baptist Church from 1998, until February 2007. Both David and Alison are accomplished musicians and experienced worship leaders. They have three adult children, Katherine, Deborah and Gareth. David's responsibilities include Sunday ministry, oversight of pastoral care and leadership training.

Hélder Martines is Youth Pastor at New Life. and is married to Ana Paula. They came all the way from Brazil to set up a dynamic youth programme for teens and twenties called Ignite!. Hélder holds degrees in Business Administration and in Theology. He worked in the secular marketplace before joining Latin American office of Christ for all Nations (the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke). For many years he served as youth leader in their home church, Primeira Igreja Batista Independente de Curitiba. Hélder was co-founder and speaker on a youth radio program and also of a youth evangelistic event called 180 Graus held in Curitiba for more than a thousand young people. In October 2007 he began an MA degree at the London School of Theology. Ana Paula graduated in Social Work. Before coming to England she worked as a social worker for Paraná State government. She also attended Word of Life Biblical Seminary in Atibaia, Brazil, doing a one-year course in theology and practical ministry. She has experience with children/teen camps and was a Word of Life Camp volunteer for almost five years. Besides helping her husband with youth leadership, Ana Paula has been a Sunday School teacher for a number of years. They also have both been involved with worship ministry and are accomplished worship musicians.

Graham Geal is our third Elder alongside Graham Jefferson and David John. He's been at New Life Church since 1980, Graham married Jaci in 1991. Both of them have been coming to New Life since joining the Church youth group in the 1980's. Graham is a Director of a roofing company and a keen footballer in a local league. He became an Elder in 1998, runs a home group with his wife Jaci, heads up our PA sound teams, and runs our Inbeteens Club. Jaci runs the Parent and Toddler Group. The Geals have two boys.

Lyn Tiller is our Office Manager & Church Administrator. She has been on the staff at New Life since October 1983. Prior to this she worked in the NHS. Lyn came to the Lord as a child and has more or less grown up in the church. As well as keeping the New Life office 'moving', Lyn serves in many different capacities including responsibility as Alpha Course Administrator and Children's Officer.
